We are no strangers that collisions between vehicles and dogs are often deadly encounters. But when the accident happens on a freeway, the chances of surviving the car crash becomes even slimmer. But to this tough dog named Scout, he has proven that sometimes a dog could beat the odds.
The dog found himself trapped on one of the busiest freeways in the United States of America. Since cars are coming from all directions during that time, Scout was not only hit once but twice. The incident caught Kaitlin Airola by surprise.
Kaitlin was on her way to work when she witnessed how cars swerved so they could avoid hitting the dog. But some reckless driver did not bat an eye and still hit the poor dog, leaving him injured. All the while, Kaitlin thought that the dog would die because he got hit twice.
Upon seeing the dog struggling, Kaitlin did not think twice and parked her car safely and approached where the dog was. Kaitlin knew that the dog was in bad shape, so she immediately phoned an ambulance for assistance.
Kaitlin saw that the dog was in shock, so she tried to calm Scout and assured the dog that everything would be under control. The dog’s rear leg was visibly broken, but Kaitlin showed grace under pressure. When the ambulance arrived, the rescuers immediately brought the dog inside the vehicle and drove him to the nearest veterinary clinic.
The kind Kaitlin also went to the clinic to check on the dog. Fortunately, the dog was far from harm because the rescuers were able to act fast. This development warmed the heart of Kaitlin because, all along, she thought Scout would not survive. The dog is now recuperating at the clinic and will soon be transferred to a local animal shelter once he fully recovers.
