Dogs have heroic instincts that help their humans get out of trouble. You will often hear stories of pooches protecting kids from strangers or stories of dogs saving their families from house fires.
But what if the situation has been reversed? What if the dog is actually in trouble? A man named Jose Guzman of Southern California just proves that humans will also do their best to save their dogs.
Jose was lucky to be alive after running into his burning home to save his beloved dog. Here is the duo’s incredible story of survival and friendship.
Taking Gabanna out of the burning house
Jose was at a barbecue at his parents’ house with Adriana Lopez, his fiancée, and their three kids when he was alerted that a fire broke out in his neighborhood. Initially, he didn’t think it was his house, but he decided to drive over there.
When he arrived at the scene, Jose found that the fire started at his neighbor’s house. His home, however, had been engulfed by the fiery inferno. While his family was already safe, Jose knew that his dog named Gabanna was still inside the burning home.
Without any hesitation, he rushed past the firefighters and went straight into the burning house. There, he found the dog hiding in the bathroom. He had to move fast to save themselves.
The two miraculously survived the inferno
Jose ran through the curtain and made his way through the smoke to the back of the house and ran towards the driveway. The dramatic rescue had been captured by Adam Guzman, who was the son of Jose’s landlord.
Adam said that the scene was very emotional. He was not expecting that Jose would make it out of the fire.
Gabanna had experienced burns on her paw and nose. And while she was a bit stressed and shaken up, she was expected to be fine.
